For the first time ever, we’re thrilled to announce the release of a Sandhill sparkling wine. It’s a special project that we’ve been patiently working on in secret over the last three years. The production is extremely small, limited to only 255 cases, and is now available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Crafted in the méthode traditionnelle, this Blanc de Blancs is made entirely from Chardonnay. Patiently aged for 18 months on its lees, the fruit is beautifully framed by layered toast and brioche notes, with a soft, creamy mousse that coats the palate. Crisp and vibrant, the finish is long, chalky, and evocative of the Naramata Bench.

WINEMAKING

Sandhill has a long, storied history of producing single vineyard wines from across the Okanagan Valley. That ethos continues with our inaugural sparkling wine, sourced from the gently rolling hills of the Naramata Bench. From a dramatic bluff overlooking Okanagan Lake, cooling breezes from the lake moderate the long, warm summer days, resulting in restrained, balanced fruit that is perfectly suited to sparkling wine. With the exceptional 2020 vintage, we felt we had to make our first sparkling wine.

FLAVOUR PROFILE

Crafted in the méthode traditionnelle, this Blanc de Blancs is made entirely from Chardonnay. It is a wine of finesse and – most importantly – place. The fruit is bright and expressive, with pristine, ripe lemon and green apple that’s lifted by perfumed cherry blossoms and honeysuckle. Patiently aged for 18 months on its lees, the fruit is beautifully framed by layered toast and brioche notes, with a soft, creamy mousse that coats the palate. Crisp and vibrant, the finish is long, chalky, and evocative of the Naramata Bench. We’re so excited to share it with you – and we recommend ordering early to avoid disappointment.
